hometown glory. // 20100608 //

im not too crazy about the city, heaven forbid they think of me as the city girl. here i am sitting crossed legged in the middle of the big city, missing my hometown. with me; its like i have a public relationship with the city and a private relationship with my hometown. im not saying that im trying to live a normal surburban life (not at this age anyway) but i guess when things turn into a carefully practiced routine, faces turn into blurs of familiarity and after a while everything becomes too intense and less artistic and more artificial, i neeeeed to escape badly. perhaps when everyone is busy putting an act to appear stand off-ish all the damn time, the enigma vanishes and they become regular people. im pretty sure if opah back home finds out what each and everyone of us is up to outside ipoh, she'd come straight down and take us back and immediately get us married off. lol.

anyhow, was in kuantan a few days back for a dip in Pantai Cherating under the muggy hot sun and also for an awesome dinner at Palm Beach Teluk Chempedak. its cool that we Malaysians, have decided to keep places like Kuantan, Ipoh and Melacca just the way they are. If not peace-freaks like me would probably become suicidal; trying to drown ourself in the ridiculously cramped buildings with stilettos, perfectly combed hair and the most fake smile on a carefully done up face. hah!

Cherating, Kuantan.
